Director of Surgical Services

Location: Fort Mohave, AZ

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Director of Surgical Services to join our partner Medical Center in Fort Mohave, AZ. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and overseeing the smooth operation of the surgical department.

Responsibilities:

• Patient Care Oversight: Assure the delivery of exceptional patient care, utilizing the skills of an experienced Registered Nurse.
• Leadership & Support: Serve as a resource for subordinate staff, facilitate problem-solving, and promote professional growth and development.
• Quality Improvement: Actively participate in and lead Quality Improvement Activities.
• Staff Education: Oversee and coordinate staff education initiatives to maintain and enhance clinical competency.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience:
  • 5 years of current nursing experience, with a focus on surgical services preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Current RN license in the State of Arizona or a valid multistate license from a recognized compact state acceptable to Arizona
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (if the employee has ACLS, BLS is NOT required)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification preferred
  • Moderate Sedation certification is required within 90 days of hire
  • APEX Training within 90 days of hire

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
