Urology Ultrasound Technician – RDMS(AB) ARDMS or ARRT (S)
Location: North Adams & Pittsfield, MA (Split Schedule: 3 Days in North Adams, 2 Days in Pittsfield)
Schedule: Full-Time | Shift 1: 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled and motivated Urology Ultrasound Technician to provide diagnostic sonography services across two Massachusetts-based clinical locations. This full-time opportunity is ideal for an experienced imaging professional with a strong background in urological ultrasound procedures and a passion for quality patient care in both clinical and operating room (OR) settings.
As a Urology Ultrasound Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-resolution diagnostic imaging to support urologists in both routine and surgical procedures. The role requires an independent, self-directed sonographer capable of adapting to diverse clinical environments and maintaining excellence in patient care and technical precision.
Perform urological ultrasound examinations using portable and stationary imaging equipment in both outpatient and OR settings
Assist physicians during surgical procedures requiring real-time ultrasound guidance
Maintain sterile technique during all applicable procedures, including the setup of sterile trays
Ensure proper documentation and image storage using PACS and hospital information systems
Adhere to patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality standards throughout all diagnostic interactions
Regularly lift/move patients and equipment as needed to support patient care and workflow efficiency
Demonstrate flexibility with work hours and OR scheduling needs
Required:
CPR Certification
Ability to obtain ARDMS or ARRT (S) registry within 2 years of hire
Massachusetts Radiography License (MALIC)
Preferred:
3 years of experience in diagnostic ultrasound, preferably in a urology setting
Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Sonography Technology Program
Prior experience in a fast-paced, multi-site clinical or hospital environment
Expertise in urological imaging protocols and procedures
Competence with PACS and EMR integration
Strong command of sterile technique, particularly in surgical settings
Ability to work autonomously and manage caseloads efficiently
Physical ability to support patient movement and equipment handling in a clinical workflow
