Position Overview

As a Surgical Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in every phase of patient care, from pre-operative evaluation to post-operative follow-up. You will act as a First Assist in the operating room, where your expertise will be essential to a successful procedure. In the clinic, you will be responsible for patient care, managing follow-ups, assisting with inpatient rounding, and coordinating communication with referring and primary care providers to ensure seamless continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Chief of Surgery, Vascular, and Oncology surgeons.

• Act as a First Assist in the operating room.

• Conduct pre-operative evaluations and provide post-operative follow-up care.

• Assist with inpatient rounding as needed.

• Coordinate communication with referring and primary care providers to ensure continuity of care.

• Utilize strong clinical assessment and communication skills in all aspects of patient care.

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications:

  • A current Physician Assistant license in New York State.

  • National Certification (NCCPA).

  • A valid DEA license.

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
