Registered Phlebology Sonographer – RPhS (CCI)

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is actively recruiting a Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPhS) to join our partner's leading vein care team in Pittsfield, MA. This full-time role offers a dynamic opportunity for an experienced vascular imaging professional with expertise in venous studies and a passion for patient-centered diagnostic care.
The Registered Phlebology Sonographer will play an integral role in the diagnosis and treatment planning of patients with venous disorders. The role includes performing high-quality venous ultrasound exams, managing diagnostic records, and collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and support staff. Candidates should be self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
Conduct comprehensive venous ultrasound examinations using portable imaging systems
Document findings and label images accurately for review by the Medical Director
Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance
Prepare and utilize sterile trays during imaging and interventional procedures
Interface with PACS and hospital information systems to manage imaging records
Follow hospital protocols for safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality
Collaborate with the Practice Manager and other clinical staff for efficient workflow
Required:
RPhS certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
CPR Certification
Completion of an accredited Phlebology Sonography Program
Proficiency in portable ultrasound equipment and venous study protocols
Experience working with sterile technique and tray setup
Preferred:
Minimum of 3 years of clinical phlebology sonography experience
Additional diagnostic technologist credentials (e.g., RDMS, RVT)
Advanced skills in venous ultrasound imaging
Familiarity with PACS and electronic medical record systems
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology of venous systems
Ability to work independently and lift/move patients and imaging equipment
Focus Area: Venous insufficiency, varicose veins, and related conditions
Environment: Clinical imaging and interventional vein procedures
Pace: Fast-moving, high-volume outpatient care setting
Team Collaboration: Vein center medical director, RNs, technologists
