Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Surgery Center Administrator to lead operations at a high-performing outpatient surgical facility in Rock Hill, SC. The center offers a broad scope of services across Dental, ENT, General Surgery, GYN, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Plastics, Podiatry, and Urology with four advanced operating rooms. This leadership opportunity is ideal for professionals with ASC management experience or those with surgical leadership backgrounds in hospital settings who are familiar with ASC operations.
The Surgery Center Administrator oversees all aspects of the facility's operations, with a strong emphasis on clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, strategic growth, and financial performance. The Administrator serves as a liaison between governing boards, medical staff, and facility departments, ensuring the highest quality of care, patient satisfaction, and staff development.
Lead and coordinate all daily facility functions and surgical services
Report operational updates to the governing board and ensure strategic alignment
Plan and manage services offered in conjunction with the medical director and executive committee
Act as a representative in corporate administrative meetings and community relations
Develop and monitor staffing needs, operating and capital budgets
Implement cost-control measures including supply chain and GPO initiatives
Lead contract negotiations and vendor relationships
Ensure alignment with USPI's EDGETM framework and internal control policies
Conduct monthly staff meetings and performance evaluations
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and professional development programs
Manage compliance with HR policies and ensure optimal staff productivity using tools like Staff Tracker
Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and collaboration
Ensure that all surgical and clinical services meet or exceed standards set by accrediting agencies
Monitor performance of contracted clinical services such as radiology, lab, and central supply
Lead initiatives for infection control and continuous quality improvement
Partner with medical staff to promote high standards of patient safety and clinical outcomes
Design and implement marketing strategies aligned with facility business goals
Lead development of new services suitable for outpatient surgery
Cultivate positive public relations and manage outreach to referring physicians
Guide the facility's Quality Improvement Committee
Maintain up-to-date medical staff bylaws and facilitate credentialing processes
Administer data-driven reviews to assess clinical outcomes, efficiency, and patient satisfaction
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred)
Minimum of 7 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience (ASC experience strongly preferred)
Current RN license in South Carolina (if applicable)
Deep understanding of surgical services operations, compliance, accreditation, and regulatory frameworks (AAAHC, CMS, HIPAA)
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and project management skills
