Job Summary

The Senior Mammography Technologist performs mammography radiographic procedures crucial for detecting abnormalities, aiding in diagnoses, and guiding patient treatment. This full-time position involves supporting a newly renovated Breast Center.


Schedule

  • Full-time, Day Shift: 4 x 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.

  • Weekend Requirement: One Saturday per month (clinic closes at 1:30 PM).

  • Overtime: Available if desired (not required).

Responsibilities

As a Senior Mammography Technologist, you will:

  • Perform mammography radiographic exams on patients, ensuring strict compliance with all radiation safety procedures.

  • Prepare patients for exams, explaining procedures, administering contrast when necessary, and positioning patients correctly.

  • Select appropriate imaging techniques and ensure the technical quality of all images.

  • Accurately enter and monitor patient data.

  • Conduct quality assurance on mammography equipment and potentially assist with initial and renewal applications for ACR and other accreditations.

  • Identify and report any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.

  • Participate in emergency call rotations within the department.

  • Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to all policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.

  • Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency.

  • Support department-based goals that contribute to the success of the organization, serving as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to caring for every member of the community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.

  • Model service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

  • Graduate of an approved program of Mammography Technology.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.

  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.

  • Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).

  • Registered Mammography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-M).

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years of prior Mammography Technologist experience is required.

  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others to perform job functions.
