Manager of Med/Surg/Telemetry

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is searching for a dynamic and experienced Manager of Med/Surg/Telemetry to join our partner, a leading medical center in Wildomar, CA. This is a crucial leadership opportunity at a licensed 122-bed facility that serves as Southwest Riverside County's only designated Trauma Center. As the manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and strategic direction of the Med/Surg and Telemetry units, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Position Overview

As the Manager of Med/Surg/Telemetry, you will be accountable for the overall management and leadership of your units on a day-to-day basis. This includes ensuring efficient resource utilization, effective staff management, and achieving key quality outcomes. You will maintain a high level of accuracy in all departmental functions and will be instrumental in fostering a positive work environment where communication and collaboration are paramount. Your role is central to defining problems, collecting data, and drawing valid conclusions to continuously improve patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, guidance, and mentorship to all nursing staff within the Med/Surg and Telemetry units.

  • Manage daily operational activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and maintaining departmental budgets.

  • Ensure a strong understanding of and compliance with all quality and safety mandates from regulatory agencies, including the Joint Commission.

  • Collaborate with physicians, other departments, and hospital leadership to define and achieve strategic goals for the units.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that support excellence in patient care.

  • Participate in staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field is required.

    • A Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

  • Experience:

    • A minimum of two years of recent, department-specific experience is required.

    • Charge nurse or other supervisory experience is preferred.

  • Licenses/Certifications:

    • A current California Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.

    • A current BLS certification is required.

    • ACLS certification is required.

    • Basic EKG/tele interpretation experience is required, or completion of a Basic EKG class within six months of employment.
