Family Nurse Practitioner

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is searching for a dedicated and skilled Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our partner, a leading medical center in Berkshire County, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional to provide advanced primary and specialty nursing services and play a central role in a patient's health journey. Position Overview

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. Your role involves performing physical exams, recording medical histories, and diagnosing health issues. You will be instrumental in creating and implementing patient care plans, ordering and analyzing diagnostic tests, and administering treatments. A key part of your work will be patient education, where you will train patients and their families to manage and prevent illness and injury. This position is expected to see at least two patients per hour of patient-facing time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Assessment and Care: Perform physical exams, record medical histories, and accurately diagnose health issues.

  • Treatment and Planning: Create and contribute to patient care plans, administering medicine and other treatments as needed.

  • Diagnostics and Monitoring: Order, administer, and analyze diagnostic tests, and detect changes in a patient's health to modify treatment plans.

  • Education and Collaboration: Train patients and their families to manage and prevent illness. Consult with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.

  • Operational Excellence: Use knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems to maintain accurate patient records.


Qualifications

  • Education: A Master's degree from an accredited nursing program is required.

  • Experience: A minimum of one to two years of experience providing primary care as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

  • Licenses and Certifications:

    • A current Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner license and board certification by either ANCC or AANP are required.

    • Prescriptive authorization is required.

  • Skills:

    • A sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

    • Proficiency with medical records and point-of-interview technology.
