Anesthesiologist Assistant – Rock Hill, SC

Join the Virtus Healthcare Staffing Team! We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Anesthesiologist Assistant to join our partner, a leading healthcare facility in Rock Hill, SC.

Job Description:

As an Anesthesiologist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures. You will conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments, develop individualized anesthesia plans, and administer anesthesia under the supervision of an anesthesiologist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in providing anesthesia care for a diverse patient population undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures.
• Conduct preoperative assessments and contribute to the development of anesthesia plans.
• Administer anesthesia under the direct supervision of an anesthesiologist, including general, regional (including spinals and arterials), and monitored anesthesia care (MAC).
• Monitor patient vitals and assist the anesthesiologist in responding to any intraoperative complications.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.

Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts are the most in-demand.
• Shift options: 8, 10, 12, 16, and 24-hour shifts available.
• Flexibility in scheduling: You can work with the team to create a schedule that fits your preferences.
• Sunday is typically the most challenging day to schedule.

Call Schedule:

• All call is optional.
• Second call: Beeper call from home (10-hour day shift followed by 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM call coverage).
• First call: 24-hour in-house shifts or 16-hour shifts starting at 3:00 PM (optional).
• Call Pay:
  • Second call: Monday-Thursday $675, Friday $700, Saturday/Sunday $1100 per day (plus hourly rate during the day shift).
  • First call: Includes an extra stipend of $100 for weekdays and $200 for weekends and holidays.
  • Heart team call: Extra $110 per call shift.

Qualifications:

• Years of Experience: New graduates are welcome.
• Licenses: Will need an SC license.
• Personality Factors: The team is known for its positive and easy-going work environment. Many team members have been with the facility for over a decade.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): 6 weeks to start.
• Relocation Assistance: $5,000 relocation assistance is available.
• Bonuses: $30,000 retention bonus over 3 years.
• Overtime Pay: Time and a half for hours worked over 40 per week.
