Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Surgical Services to join our partner, a 100-bed hospital offering a full range of services. This is a full-time, day shift position, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment.
Lead the Way in Surgical Services
As Assistant Director of Surgical Services, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of the surgical department. You will assist in overseeing personnel, managing surgical procedures, and ensuring efficient and effective workflows. This role requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a dedication to promoting excellence in perioperative care.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of surgical services, ensuring efficient and effective workflows.
- Assist with the supervision and development of surgical staff, promoting a collaborative and high-performing team.
- Manage surgical schedules, optimizing resource utilization and patient flow.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Oversee the ordering and management of surgical supplies and equipment, maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Implement and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement in surgical services.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment within the surgical suite.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for surgical services.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Effectively manage multiple priorities and supervise multiple areas within surgical services.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Required: Academic degree in nursing.
- Preferred: Master's degree in nursing or a related field (Health Administration, Business, Public Health, or Management).
- Experience:
- Required: 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position.
- Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:
- Required: Current licensure, certification, or registration to practice the profession as required by law, regulation in the state of practice or policy. CPR certification.
