Assistant Nurse Manager – Emergency Services

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our partner hospital in Ketchum, ID, as an Assistant Nurse Manager in the Emergency Services department. This is a full-time, day shift leadership role that requires a passion for emergency care, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Lead the Way in Emergency Care

As an Assistant Nurse Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Emergency Services department, overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. Responsibilities:

• Staff Management and Leadership:

  • Manage, develop, and engage staff, ensuring best practices and adherence to policies.
  • Make staff assignments based on competencies and patient needs.
  • Determine staffing needs in collaboration with the Nursing Manager and Staffing Office.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, coaching, and development opportunities.
  • Assist in the hiring and onboarding process.
  • Contribute to performance evaluations and staff management.

• Performance Monitoring and Improvement:

  • Monitor and achieve performance metrics related to harm index, compliance, patient safety, HCAHPS scores, rounding, vacancy, turnover, productivity, overtime, expenses, workplace safety, and staff engagement.
  • Initiate and foster continuous improvement.
  • Identify and resolve patient/customer satisfaction issues.

• Compliance and Quality:

  • Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures.
  • Communicate program priorities to the team.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff to identify and resolve problems.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure staff have the necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Integrate evidence-based practices.
  • Create a positive work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Contribute to achieving hospital-wide goals.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience: 3 years of nursing experience; Emergency Nursing preferred
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Current RN License in Idaho
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification
