Part-Time Cardiac Sonographer (32 hrs/week) – Clackamas, OR
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Part-Time (32 hrs/week) Cardiac Sonographer to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a hospital and clinical setting. This role plays a crucial part in patient care by performing advanced ultrasound procedures while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine, emergent, portable, and surgical echocardiographic examinations in compliance with department protocols.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with Cardiologists and healthcare teams to ensure accurate diagnoses.
- Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and transportation to optimize workflow.
- Manage data entry, file organization, quality assurance, and supply restocking as needed.
- Adhere to safety standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in on-call or standby schedules as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Completion of a two-year AMA-approved ultrasound program plus one year of ultrasound training and certification, OR
- Two (2) years of Allied Health education plus successful completion of a two-year ARDMS program, OR
- Graduation from an AMA-accredited ultrasound program with ARDMS or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification (new grads must obtain certification within one year of hire).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI) OR Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS) – must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
- Oregon Sonography Technologist License (current and valid).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – must be obtained within one month of hire.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have Skills):
- Experience with TEE, Stress Echo, and Pediatric Echocardiography.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and perform exams confidently without supervision.
- Adaptability, attention to detail, and ability to follow established policies and procedures.
