Certified Medical Assistant – Zanesville, OH

Join the Virtus Healthcare Staffing Team! We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our partner, a healthcare facility in Zanesville, OH.

Job Description:

As a CMA, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient and effective operation of a physician's office. You will provide a wide range of clinical and administrative support to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care:
  • Assist physicians with patient examinations, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and assisting with minor procedures.
  • Perform basic clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and injections.
  • Collect patient medical histories and document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and medication administration.
• Administrative Support:
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
  • Prepare and maintain patient medical records.
  • Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries.
  • Assist with billing and insurance verification.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Medical Assistant by a nationally recognized accrediting body (e.g., AAMA, AMT, NHA)
• One (1) year of experience in a physician's office setting preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Phlebotomy and EKG experience required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Schedule:

• Day Shift
• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week
