This Level II Trauma Center, also a Los Angeles County EDAP and CCS certified facility, offers a wide range of services.
Lead the Way in Patient Safety and Risk Management
As the Clinical Patient Safety Manager, you will play a critical role in enhancing patient safety and mitigating the risk of harm. This position demands strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, coupled with a deep understanding of patient safety principles and best practices.
Position Overview:
The Clinical Patient Safety Manager plays a critical role in enhancing patient safety and mitigating the risk of harm. This position demands strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, coupled with a deep understanding of patient safety principles and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Safety Risk Management:
- Conduct root cause analyses (RCAs) and other investigative methods to identify and analyze patient safety events.
- Develop and implement action plans to mitigate identified risks and prevent future occurrences.
- Monitor and track patient safety indicators and trends.
- Quality Improvement:
- Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety.
- Develop and implement evidence-based best practices to enhance patient safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient safety across the organization.
- Education and Training:
- Develop and deliver patient safety training programs for staff at all levels.
- Promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and accreditation standards, including The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and report patient safety data to identify trends and inform improvement efforts.
- Prepare reports and presentations on patient safety performance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Licensure/Certification: California Fire and Life Safety Card – National Organization required within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) certification.
- Two years of experience in patient safety roles.
