Clinical Therapist (Respiratory Therapy) – Abilene, TX

Position Overview:

This position offers a unique opportunity to provide essential respiratory care to patients with a variety of breathing disorders. As a Clinical Therapist, you will play a vital role in assessing, treating, and managing patients with respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Assessment and Treatment:
  • Assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders, including those with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
  • Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures such as bronchodilator therapy, aerosol treatments, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive ventilation.
  • Monitor patient respiratory status, including vital signs, blood gases, and other relevant parameters.
  • Analyze patient data and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and self-management strategies.
• Supervision and Training:
  • Provide guidance and supervision to respiratory therapy students and new graduates.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant protocols and standards of care.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Texas State Respiratory Therapy License is required.
• BLS certification required (should not initiate patient contact until completed).
• ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire.
• ENPC or PALS certification required within one (1) year of hire.
• NRP certification required within one (1) year of hire.
• Prior experience as a Respiratory Therapist is preferred.

Skills and Certifications:

• RRT (required)
• BLS (required)
• ACLS (required within 6 months)
• ENPC or PALS (required within 1 year)
• NRP (required within 1 year)
