Position Overview:
This position offers a unique opportunity to provide essential respiratory care to patients with a variety of breathing disorders. As a Clinical Therapist, you will play a vital role in assessing, treating, and managing patients with respiratory conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment and Treatment:
Assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders, including those with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures such as bronchodilator therapy, aerosol treatments, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive ventilation.
Monitor patient respiratory status, including vital signs, blood gases, and other relevant parameters.
Analyze patient data and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and self-management strategies.
Supervision and Training:
Provide guidance and supervision to respiratory therapy students and new graduates.
Quality Assurance:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement activities.
Ensure compliance with all relevant protocols and standards of care.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Texas State Respiratory Therapy License is required.
BLS certification required (should not initiate patient contact until completed).
ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire.
ENPC or PALS certification required within one (1) year of hire.
NRP certification required within one (1) year of hire.
Prior experience as a Respiratory Therapist is preferred.
