Lead the Way in Health Information Management

As Coding Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the coding department, ensuring that medical records are accurately coded for billing, research, and reporting purposes. You will manage a team of coding professionals, develop and implement coding policies, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned coding areas.
• Develop, implement, and maintain coding policies and procedures.
• Ensure coding practices comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Monitor coding quality and productivity.
• Provide training and support to coding staff.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve coding-related issues.
• Analyze coding data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Participate in HIM and clinical information system committees.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of HIM initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience: Knowledge of hospital information systems and demonstrated knowledge of Health Information Management functions, policies, and practices in an electronic environment for inpatient coding.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Preferred: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or equivalent.
  • Required: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
• Skills:
  • High degree of analytical ability.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications (Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.).
