Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist – Saint Peters, MO

Position Overview:
The CT Technologist plays a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This position requires a strong understanding of CT physics, patient anatomy, and pathology, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT Examinations:
- Independently perform a variety of CT examinations, including but not limited to:
- Head and neck CTs
- Chest CTs
- Abdominal and pelvic CTs
- Extremity CTs
- Contrast-enhanced studies
- Prepare patients for examinations, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.
- Position patients correctly for optimal image acquisition.
- Operate CT equipment effectively and safely, adjusting parameters and optimizing image quality.
- Analyze CT images and identify potential abnormalities.
- Document examination findings accurately and concisely in the patient’s medical record.
- Patient Care:
- Provide compassionate and patient-centered care throughout the examination process.
- Monitor patient safety and comfort during procedures.
- Assist with patient preparation and post-procedure care.
- Quality Assurance:
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including equipment maintenance, image quality assessments, and protocol development.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (R.T.(R)) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist in Computed Tomography (R.T.(CT)) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Other Requirements:
- Experience with Siemens CT scanners is preferred.
- Ability to work evening shifts (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM).
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation (1-2 shifts per schedule).
- Ability to float to Progress West/St. Peters hospitals as needed.
- Experience with adult patients in an outpatient, ER, and trauma setting is required.
