Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist – Saint Peters, MO

Position Overview:

The CT Technologist plays a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This position requires a strong understanding of CT physics, patient anatomy, and pathology, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform CT Examinations:
    • Independently perform a variety of CT examinations, including but not limited to:
      • Head and neck CTs
      • Chest CTs
      • Abdominal and pelvic CTs
      • Extremity CTs
      • Contrast-enhanced studies
    • Prepare patients for examinations, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.
    • Position patients correctly for optimal image acquisition.
    • Operate CT equipment effectively and safely, adjusting parameters and optimizing image quality.
    • Analyze CT images and identify potential abnormalities.
    • Document examination findings accurately and concisely in the patient’s medical record.
  • Patient Care:
    • Provide compassionate and patient-centered care throughout the examination process.
    • Monitor patient safety and comfort during procedures.
    • Assist with patient preparation and post-procedure care.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Participate in quality assurance activities, including equipment maintenance, image quality assessments, and protocol development.
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Registered Radiologic Technologist (R.T.(R)) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
    • Registered Radiologic Technologist in Computed Tomography (R.T.(CT)) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Experience with Siemens CT scanners is preferred.
    • Ability to work evening shifts (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM).
    • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation (1-2 shifts per schedule).
    • Ability to float to Progress West/St. Peters hospitals as needed.
    • Experience with adult patients in an outpatient, ER, and trauma setting is required.
