Computed Tomography Technologist
Full-Time, Night Shift | Vernon, CT
A community hospital in Vernon, CT, is seeking an experienced Computed Tomography Technologist to join their team. This position requires night shift availability and every other weekend commitment.
Provide Essential CT Imaging Services
As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing CT and Radiologic exams, producing high-quality imaging studies, and providing patient care. You will operate CT equipment, prepare patients, and adhere to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Performing CT and Radiologic exams.
- Producing high-quality imaging studies.
- Preparing the room and equipment for ordered studies.
- Transporting patients to/from the ER to the Imaging department.
- Demonstrating a complete working knowledge of physics principles, anatomy, medical terminology, and radiation protection.
- Meeting age-specific knowledge/skill requirements.
- Completing mandatory education programs annually.
- Performing a wide range of CT procedures, including:
- Abdomen (with and without contrast)
- Colorectal Studies (Rectal Contrast)
- Pelvis (with and without contrast)
- Chest (with and without contrast)
- Vascular Chest (e.g., Pulmonary embolism, CTA, aorta)
- Carotid
- Head (with and without contrast)
- Sinuses
- Soft Tissue Neck
- Trauma Head
- Multiplanar Reconstructions (MRP)
- Region of Interest Measurement (ROI)
- Coronary CTA
- Vascular CTA
- Cervical, Lumbar, Musculoskeletal Trauma, and Thoracic spine imaging
- General Radiography
- Adhering to isolation precautions.
- Preparing and/or administering contrast media.
- Practicing radiation safety protocols.
- Starting peripheral IVs.
Requirements:
- ARRT (CT) certification.
- ARRT (R) certification.
- BLS certification.
- Active state license.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a CT Technologist.
- Community hospital experience is required.
- Must be comfortable working with patients of all age groups (Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics).
- Experience with Siemens equipment is required.
Shift Details:
- 5×8 hour shifts: 11:30 PM – 7:30 AM.
- Every other weekend commitment.
Additional Information:
- Level I Trauma Center.
- Scrubs: Navy
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Required Booster (Medical/Religious Exemptions only).
- Flu Vaccine: Unknown.
- Candidates residing within a 30-mile radius of the facility will not be considered.
