Position Overview: Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director for the Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) for our partner, a leading hospital in El Paso, TX. The Director will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of the Cath Lab, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient operation of the department. This role requires a strong background in nursing and leadership, with a focus on cardiovascular procedures and patient management.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Cath Lab, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, technologists, and support staff.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Cath Lab.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Manage the department's budget, including staffing, equipment, and supplies, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards, including Joint Commission, state, and federal guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Facilitate effective communication within the department and with other hospital departments.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including patient information, staffing schedules, and financial reports.
- Stay current with cardiovascular care and technology advancements, integrating new practices and innovations into the Cath Lab.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
- A bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field is required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Texas RN License (current state registration).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Any other certifications required for staff nurses in managed areas.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- At least 5 years of work experience in a leadership/supervisory capacity in a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated professional judgment and ability to communicate, mediate, and problem-solve with colleagues, patients, visitors, and medical staff.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular procedures and patient management.
