As the Director of Nursing – Surgical Services, you will lead and oversee all aspects of surgical operations, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Position Summary:

The Director of Nursing – Surgical Services will lead and oversee all aspects of surgical operations, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, quality, and operational efficiency. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong clinical background in surgical services and a proven ability to manage teams and drive performance in a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of Surgical Services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize workflow efficiency.
• Manage budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and hospital leadership to advance surgical care services.
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and accreditation regulations.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Required: Academic degree in Nursing.
  • Preferred: BSN or MSN.
• Experience:
  • Required: Minimum 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting as a Manager, Full-Time Charge Nurse, or related position.
• Licenses & Certifications:
  • Required: Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Required: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA certified).
  • Preferred: Certification in perioperative nursing.
  • Strongly Preferred: CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification.
