Director of Nursing (RN) – Long Term Care

Level IV Trauma Center | Full-Time | Joshua Tree, CA

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is proud to partner with a leading Level IV trauma center in Joshua Tree, CA, in the search for an exceptional Director of Nursing – Long Term Care. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to administer and lead the nursing program at a certified long-term care facility (CCC) while contributing to the broader mission of the hospital.

Lead the Way in Long-Term Care

As the Director of Nursing (DON), you will oversee all aspects of nursing operations within the CCC as part of the hospital's leadership team. Collaborating with the CNO/COO, this role ensures that patient/resident care meets the highest standards, maintains regulatory compliance, and supports an environment of continuous quality improvement. The DON will also serve as an advisor to management, patient/resident care staff, and the hospital CEO on nursing-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the nursing team, ensuring adherence to hospital policies, regulations, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve patient/resident outcomes and staff performance.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and empathy within the CCC.
• Monitor and evaluate clinical procedures, compliance, and effectiveness to ensure alignment with healthcare best practices.
• Serve as a liaison between the nursing team and hospital leadership.
• Oversee budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation for the nursing department.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Licensure: Current RN License (California)
• Certification: Current CPR certification
• Experience:
  • 5 years as an RN in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or acute care setting
  • 3 years in a nurse management role
