Lead the Way in Pharmacy Services

As Director of Pharmacy, you will oversee all aspects of pharmacy services within this respected Trauma Center. You will lead and mentor a team of dedicated pharmacists and technicians, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to patients. This is a key role in a critical access facility, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on patient outcomes and organizational success.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and direct all pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, standards of practice, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and mentor pharmacy staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures that optimize efficiency, safety, and patient care.
  • Oversee medication procurement, storage, dispensing, and control.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and other departments to promote rational drug therapy and medication safety.
  • Monitor and analyze pharmacy operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Manage the pharmacy budget and resources effectively.
  • Stay abreast of developments in pharmacy practice and healthcare regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
    • Preferred: PharmD or Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy with MBA/MS.
    • Required: Five (5) years of related experience, including three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Licensure: Current License to practice Pharmacy in New Mexico.
  • Certification: IV Certification must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
  • Experience: Hospital-based pharmacy experience (Preferred).
  • Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, team-building, problem-solving, and medication safety skills.
