Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a prestigious Level I Trauma Center in Houston, TX, to find an exceptional Education Resource Specialist – RN for their Abdominal (Kidney) Transplant program. This role is ideal for an experienced transplant nursing professional passionate about education and advancing clinical excellence.

Advance Transplant Care Through Education

In this key role, you will develop and deliver innovative education programs for clinical staff, foster adherence to national transplant standards, and support a culture of continuous learning within the abdominal transplant unit.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (with flexibility as needed).

Key Responsibilities:

• Educational Program Development: Design and present educational modules, organize continuing education events.
• Clinical Support & Collaboration: Provide advanced training, collaborate on OPTN and CSM guidelines.
• Unit Integration & Oversight: Offer direct support to SICU and outpatient transplant units, participate in training programs.

Requirements:

• Licensure: Active Multistate or Compact RN License.
• Education: Master's degree required (preference for Education focus).
• Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of acute care nursing experience.
  • At least 3 years as a Kidney Transplant Coordinator (Kidney transplant experience is non-negotiable).
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Certifications:
  • Certification as a Transplant Coordinator (REQUIRED).
  • Current BLS certification.
• Skills:
  • Familiarity with Epic, OPTN, and CSM guidelines.
  • Proven track record of consistent work history.
