Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) – Zanesville, OH

Join the Virtus Healthcare Staffing Team! We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) to join our partner, an emergency medical services provider in Zanesville, OH.

Job Description:

As an EMT-B, you will be a vital member of the emergency medical response team, providing critical care to patients in need. You will respond to a variety of emergency calls, from minor medical emergencies to life-threatening trauma incidents, and provide essential medical care while transporting patients to appropriate medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Emergency Medical Care:
  • Administer basic life support to patients at the scene of an emergency, in-route to the hospital, and in the pre-hospital environment.
  • Assess patient conditions, provide initial medical treatment, and stabilize patients for transport.
  • Assist with patient care activities such as splinting, bandaging, and immobilization.
• Patient Transport:
  • Safely operate and maintain emergency vehicles.
  • Transport patients to appropriate medical facilities in a timely and safe manner.
• Communication & Collaboration:
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, dispatchers, and hospital staff.
  • Collaborate with other members of the emergency medical response team.
• Station Maintenance:
  • Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of emergency vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available for each shift.
• Professional Development:
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and enhance clinical skills.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Ohio EMT-B certification
• Current BLS certification
• Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator certification
• Must be 23 years of age or older
• Valid Ohio Driver's License
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Schedule:

• Varied Shifts: Days, evenings, nights, and weekends
• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week
