Job Description:
As a Mobile Radiographer, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients within various community settings. You will travel to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other healthcare facilities to perform on-site X-ray examinations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform Mobile X-Ray Examinations:
Conduct a variety of radiographic examinations, including but not limited to: chest X-rays, extremity X-rays, and skeletal surveys.
Utilize portable digital (DR) or computed (CR) radiography equipment to acquire high-quality images.
Ensure proper patient positioning and image quality.
Patient Care:
Prepare patients for examinations, explaining procedures clearly and addressing any concerns.
Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout the examination process.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and facility staff.
Equipment Management:
Safely transport and operate portable X-ray equipment.
Perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Ensure the proper functioning and cleanliness of equipment.
Documentation and Reporting:
Accurately document all examinations and patient information.
Transmit images and reports to the appropriate destination.
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with dispatch, management, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Certification: Radiology Technologist (RT) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Experience: Experience with portable X-ray equipment is preferred.
Skills:
Strong understanding of radiographic principles and techniques.
Knowledge of radiation safety protocols.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certifications:
CPR certification from a hands-on instructor-led program (e.g., AHA or Red Cross) is required.
