Nuclear Medicine Technologist – R.T.(R)(N)ARRT or CNMT

ASAP Need in Los Angeles! 1-Year Commitment Preferred!

Location: Los Angeles, CA Shift: Full-Time, Days (5×8 Hours, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

Opportunity Overview:

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is urgently seeking a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist for our partner, a 408-bed medical facility in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves performing a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring high standards of patient care, safety, and image quality. This position needs to be filled immediately, and the hiring manager strongly prefers candidates who are willing to commit to a one-year assignment.

Key Responsibilities & Procedures:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for demonstrating proficiency in the following areas:

  • Patient Care: Providing care primarily to adult patients in a hospital setting.
  • Procedures: Performing Gastric Emptying, HIDA Scans, MUGA Scans, 3-Phase Bone Scans, Limited Bone Scans, Whole Body Bone Scans, Cerebral Blood Flow studies, Liver Flow/Imaging, Pulmonary Ventilation/Perfusion (V/Q) scans, Renal Flow/Function scans (with/without Lasix), Thyroid Uptake/Scans, Limited Thyroid Scans, Brain Scans, Liver Scans, Cancer Surveys, Cardiac Stress Tests (Adenosine infusion, Exercise/Rest-Single Photon), and other prescribed nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Clinical Skills: Drawing venous blood, starting and maintaining peripheral IV lines, adhering to isolation precautions.
  • Radiopharmaceutical Handling: Safely storing, handling, preparing, administering, and disposing of radioactive materials according to strict protocols.
  • Quality & Safety: Ensuring adherence to all safety protocols, performing necessary QC checks, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program (Required).
  • License: Current California state license for Nuclear Medicine Technology (Required).
  • Certifications: Current certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB/CNMT) or ARRT(N) (Required); Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required).
  • Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in the required procedures and skills listed under Key Responsibilities (Required). (Note: Specific years of experience not listed in prompt, but proficiency across listed skills is essential).

Preferred Assets:

  • Experience working with Phillips and/or Siemens nuclear medicine equipment.

Schedule & Logistics:

  • Shift: Full-Time, 5×8 Hour Day Shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM).
  • Call: No On-Call Requirement.
  • RTO: All Request Time Off must be submitted at the time of application submission; NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Scrubs: Navy Blue required.
  • Vaccination: Flu Vaccine Required (Medical/Religious Exemptions/Declinations Allowed); COVID-19 Vaccine Not Required per current facility guideline.
