Nuclear Medicine Technologist – R.T.(R)(N)ARRT

Full-Time, Day Shift | Los Angeles, CA | Level II Trauma Center

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform essential diagnostic imaging procedures at a Level II Trauma Center in Los Angeles, CA. The manager is seeking someone who is willing to commit to a year, which would be a HUGE PLUS!

Provide Expert Nuclear Medicine Imaging Services

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures, prepare patients, administer radiopharmaceuticals, and maintain accurate patient records.

Shift Details:

  • 5×8's (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM).
  • Call after 4:30 PM – 7:00 AM the following day, 7 days a week.

Required Certifications:

  • BLS.
  • CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist).
  • NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board).

Required Skills:

  • Experience with adult patients in a hospital setting.
  • Proficiency with Philips and Siemens equipment.
  • Expertise in the following nuclear medicine procedures:
    • Gastric Emptying.
    • HIDA Scan.
    • Muga Scan.
    • 3 Phase Bone Scan.
    • Limited and Whole Body Bone Scan.
    • Cerebral Blood Flow.
    • Liver Flow and Imaging.
    • Perfusion and Ventilation/Perfusion Lung Scan.
    • Renal Flow/Function and Perfusion with Lasix.
    • Cancer Survey.
    • Uptake Scan (Limited and Brain).
    • Liver Scan with Adenosine Infusion.
    • Exercise/Rest-Single and Pharmacological Stress.
  • Skills in drawing venous blood, following isolation precautions, starting and maintaining peripheral IVs, and storing/handling/disposing of radioactive materials.

Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

  • Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures.
  • Prepare patients for procedures.
  • Operate imaging equipment.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Monitor patients during procedures.
  • Process and analyze images.
  • Maintain accurate patient records.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with radiologists.

Additional Information:

  • Level II Trauma Center.
  • 408 licensed beds.
  • Wide range of services including cardiovascular, neurosciences, oncology, and emergency.
  • Basic Emergency Room Service Level.
  • ASAP start date.
  • All RTO (Requested Time Off) must be submitted at the time of submission, NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Not Required.
  • Flu Vaccine: Required – Medical/Religious Exemptions and Declinations Allowed.
  • Scrubs: Navy Blue.
