Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a Level I Trauma Center in Portland, OR, in the search for a Manager, Nursing – Adult Psych. This leadership role is essential to overseeing psychiatric nursing operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and fostering a collaborative and supportive environment within an acute behavioral health setting.
Lead the Way in Psychiatric Nursing
As the Nurse Manager of the Adult Psychiatric Unit, you will lead and manage the nursing team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and promoting a positive and therapeutic environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise in psychiatric nursing, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative and supportive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage nursing operations for the Adult Psychiatric Unit, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Oversee compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
- Develop and manage department budgets, staffing plans, and operational strategies to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives to drive excellence in psychiatric nursing care.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience with progressive leadership roles.
- Licensure: Active Oregon Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- Certifications: BLS – American Heart Association certification upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have Skills)
- Master's Degree in a related field.
- National Certification from a recognized professional organization in psychiatric nursing or a relevant clinical specialty (upon hire).
- Formal coursework or training in management, finance, or administrative subjects.
- Previous management experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting.
