Nurse Manager – Emergency Department

Virtus Healthcare Staffing seeks a dedicated Nurse Manager in the Emergency Department to join our partner, a Hospital in Geneva, NY. This is a unique opportunity for a qualified and experienced professional to lead and ensure the delivery of uncompromising quality and exceptional patient safety.
Lead the Way in Emergency Nursing
As Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department, you will be responsible for implementing strategies and activities designed to achieve and support uncompromising quality, exceptional patient safety, and an outstanding patient/family experience. You will foster an environment that encourages staff development, empowerment, and best practices in nursing care.
Responsibilities:
- Implement strategies and activities to achieve uncompromising quality, exceptional patient safety, and an outstanding patient/family experience.
- Foster an environment that encourages staff development, empowerment, and best practices in nursing care.
- Oversee resource allocation, interdisciplinary collaboration, recruitment, and retention of personnel.
- Supervise the Emergency Department, SSH Clinical Leaders, and the Medic 55 ALS Program.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Minimum: Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program, with a Master's in Nursing or a related field.
- License:
- Minimum: Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Certifications:
- Minimum: BLS, ACLS, PALS (through the RQI system during clinical orientation).
- Basic Coronary Care within 6 months of hire.
- CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
- TNCC is required within 18 months of hire.
- Preferred: Certified Emergency Nursing within one year.
- Experience:
- Minimum: 3-4 years of experience as an RN in an Emergency Department and at least one year of experience as a Nurse Manager.
- Skills:
- Minimum:
- Moderate sedation competency within six months of hire.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of management systems and processes.
- Ability to establish effective work relationships.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in project management.
- Familiarity with The Joint Commission requirements.
- Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheets.
- Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office products and Meditech.
