Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant – Adult Medicine
Location: Hartford, CT
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a leading hospital in Hartford, CT, to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for their Adult Medicine department. This is an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care to a diverse patient population in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide full-spectrum primary healthcare to adult patients, including health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Conduct comprehensive history taking, physical examinations, and interpret findings.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Prescribe medications and therapies, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and perform minor procedures as needed.
- Provide patient education on chronic disease management, health promotion, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records following established guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the Adult Medicine department.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (NP) or physician assistant program (PA).
- Valid APRN or PA license in the state of Connecticut (Preferred).
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of experience working in an ambulatory setting or providing urgent care (Preferred).
- Ability to obtain DEA and state narcotic registration.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred).

- Demonstrated ability to maintain timely, thorough, and accurate clinical documentation.
- Comfort using electronic health records and other computer systems.
- Ability to make evidence-based clinical decisions and comply with quality measures.
