Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse | US Applicants Only to join our partner, a leading healthcare provider in Mission Viejo, CA, as a Nursing Supervisor in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a team of skilled professionals in a dynamic 27-bed cardiac and medical critical care unit at a state-of-the-art, 285-bed Level II Trauma Center.

Lead a Skilled CICU Team at a Premier Trauma Center | US Applicants Only

As a CICU Nursing Supervisor, you will provide leadership, coordinate nursing care, and ensure high standards of patient care in a fast-paced, critical care environment.

Unit Overview:

The CICU provides a high level of specialized care to a diverse patient population, including those with pre- and post-operative cardiac conditions, cardiomyopathy requiring mechanical circulatory support, heart failure, post-MI cardiology patients, and those requiring IABP, Swan-Ganz, CRRT, TTM, DKA, Pacemakers, and management of Severe Sepsis and Respiratory Failure. You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing the best possible outcomes for critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate nursing care activities in the CICU.
• Ensure adherence to established standards of care and best practices.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of nurses and support staff.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor patient outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in unit-based and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
• Promote a positive and supportive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association certification upon hire.
• Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience.
• 2 years of recent clinical experience in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit or similar critical care setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Nursing.
• Prior leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
