Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic acute care team at a leading medical center in O'Fallon, MO. This role offers the opportunity to provide essential rehabilitation services in a technologically advanced hospital setting.

Provide Expert Occupational Therapy in an Acute Care Setting

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to adult patients within the acute care setting, focusing on improving functional abilities and promoting independence.

Position Overview:

• Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to patients in the acute care setting.
• Focus on adult care, adaptive equipment, and treatment of orthopedic injuries.
• Lift/transfer patients, provide education, and implement safety strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and manage patient care-related communications.

Job Summary:

• Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to patients within the acute care setting.
• This role requires a strong understanding of adult care, experience with adaptive equipment, and expertise in treating patients with hip fractures, total hip replacements, and knee injuries/total knee replacements.
• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, lifting/transferring patients, providing patient/family education, implementing safety/injury prevention strategies, managing telephone calls related to patient care, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation.

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday, 5×8 hour shifts, Days (08:30 AM – 5:00 PM).
• Weekend Requirement: Every 6th full weekend. A day off will be provided during the week prior to the Saturday shift and the week after the Sunday shift. Weekend shift hours are 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM unless otherwise approved.
• On-call Requirement: No.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience required.
• First-time therapists are not accepted.
• Current BLS certification and Missouri State Licensure required. Pending state license accepted.
• Experience in adult care, adaptive equipment, and treatment of hip fractures, total hip replacements, and knee injuries/total knee replacements is required.
• Experience with lifting/transferring patients, patient/family education, safety/injury prevention, and documentation is required.
• EPIC experience is preferred.

Additional Information:

• Clinicians may be required to float between two hospital locations as needed.
• Locals are not accepted (75-mile radius restriction).
• RTO Restrictions: 7 days.
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week.
• Type of Facility: Short Term Acute Care.
• Total Staffed Beds: 69.
• Scrub Color: Black top or scrub top, tan pants or scrub pants.
• Charting: EPIC.
• Parking: Free parking is available.
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Not Required.
• Flu Vaccine: Required – Medical/Religious Exemptions Only.
• 72-bed facility, established in 2007.
• Incorporates Patient Touch Technology (PTT) system.
• Offers surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical and surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, and outpatient lab services.
• Has a Level II Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
• Provides both adult and pediatric emergency care.
