Occupational Therapist – Outpatient Rehab (OT)

Day Shift, Full-Time | Zanesville, OH

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join the outpatient rehabilitation team at a leading hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. This is a full-time, day shift position (36 hours per week) at a 260-bed facility that is a Level III Trauma Center and offers a range of services, including advanced cardiac care, neurosurgery, comprehensive cancer services, and a Level II Neonatal Intermediate Care Unit.

Make a Difference in Outpatient Rehab

As an Outpatient Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in evaluating, planning, and implementing treatment for patients with a variety of diagnoses and presenting symptoms. You will provide both group and individual therapy sessions to help patients improve their functional abilities, increase independence, and enhance their overall quality of life.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans based on their diagnoses, functional limitations, and goals.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to address a range of conditions, including physical disabilities, cognitive impairments, and mental health challenges.
• Utilize evidence-based practices and treatment modalities to facilitate patient progress and maximize outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, adaptive strategies, and self-management techniques to promote continued progress.
• Document patient progress and outcomes meticulously, ensuring accurate and timely records.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.
• Supervise and direct patient treatment activities of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) as needed.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Experience: Minimum of one clinical rotation in a Rehabilitation Services setting.
• Licensure: Current Ohio OT license and certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• Skills: Attention to detail, ability to assess situational needs and problem-solve.
