Physical Therapist – Outpatient
Medical Center | Full-Time | South Windsor, CT
Help patients regain their mobility and improve their quality of life! Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled and compassionate Outpatient Physical Therapist (PT) to join our partner, a leading medical center in South Windsor, Connecticut.
Provide Expert Outpatient Physical Therapy Services
As an Outpatient Physical Therapist, you will provide comprehensive physical therapy services to a diverse patient population. You will evaluate patients, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions to address a wide range of conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients' physical function, including their range of motion, strength, balance, and coordination.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide a variety of therapeutic interventions, such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, functional mobility training, and patient education.
- Utilize various modalities and equipment, including cryotherapy, moist heat, ultrasound, phonophoresis, TENS, E-stim, crutches, gait belts, walkers, shoulder slings, and traction tables.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Adhere to all safety and ethical guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
- Current Connecticut state license as a Physical Therapist.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Outpatient Physical Therapist.
- Proficiency in evaluating and treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions and orthopedic injuries.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based practice in physical therapy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Medicare B billing practices.
Schedule:
- 37.5-hour work week with the potential for 40 hours.
- Monday and Wednesday: 10:00 – 18:00 (with potential for earlier start time).
- Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 08:00 – 16:00.
Patient Population:
- Adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Patients with orthopedic surgeries, general deconditioning, workers' compensation injuries, low back and neck pain, and balance deficits.
Additional Details:
- Level I Trauma Center.
- Outpatient clinic setting.
- Wine-colored scrubs required.
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Required Booster (medical/religious exemptions may be granted).
- Flu Vaccine: Unknown (please inquire for further details).
- Does not accept candidates within a 30-mile radius of the facility.
- Does not accept first-time travelers.
