Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our partner hospital in San Jose, CA. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide essential rehabilitative services to patients, enhancing their mobility, safety, and overall quality of life.
Essential Job Duties:
- Treatment Implementation: Administer participant's treatment programs as established by the Physical Therapist.
- Assessment Assistance: Assist the Physical Therapist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing.
- Rehabilitation Coordination: Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs tailored to each participant's treatment plan.
- Scheduling & Billing: Handle scheduling of participants' treatment, clinical visits, and billing.
- Therapy Delivery & Documentation: Deliver and document physical therapy interventions, including active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait and functional training of ADLs, and therapeutic modalities like massage, heat, sound, water, light, or electricity.
- End-of-Life Care: Participate in end-of-life care coordination and support.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for US equivalency.
- Licensure: Valid Physical Therapy Assistant License or proof of license eligibility in the state of California.
- Experience: Two (2) years of PTA experience in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population is preferred.
