Virtus Healthcare Staffing is searching for a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist to join our partner, a medical center in Artesia, NM. As an Outpatient Physical Therapist, you will provide comprehensive physical therapy services in accordance with New Mexico state laws and your scope of practice. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and treating a wide range of patient needs, from motor function and balance to muscular strengthening and wound care. You will play a vital role in patient and family education, and you will be central to coordinating with an interdisciplinary team to provide holistic treatment.
Patient Care:
Provide skilled evaluation and treatment of functional mobility, motor function, muscular strengthening, and balance needs.
Create a plan of care with measurable functional goals that consider a patient's psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
Develop an appropriate discharge plan, including recommending community resources.
Education & Collaboration:
Perform family, caregiver, and patient education to increase independence upon discharge.
Consult and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive treatment.
Participate in educational programs, quality improvement initiatives, and marketing of physical therapy services.
Documentation & Compliance:
Provide clear documentation that meets APTA guidelines and bill for appropriate charges in a timely manner.
Cooperate fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.
Education: Graduate of an accredited Master's or Doctorate-level program in Physical Therapy.
Experience: Greater than one year of experience is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
Licenses & Certifications:
Must be eligible for current licensure with the New Mexico State Physical Therapy Board.
A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required before employment begins.
