Physical Therapist – Outpatient

Full-Time, Day Shift | La Jara, CO

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our partner, a medical center in La Jara, CO. This is an excellent opportunity to provide vital outpatient and potentially some inpatient rehabilitative care within a rural community setting.

Comprehensive Description:

As an Outpatient Physical Therapist, you will play a crucial role in improving the quality of life for patients in a rural community. You will be responsible for evaluating patient conditions, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions to enhance mobility, strength, and function. This role offers the opportunity to work in both outpatient and potentially inpatient settings, providing a diverse and rewarding experience.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations to assess physical condition and functional limitations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs and goals.
• Provide a variety of therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities.
• Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and self-management techniques.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Potentially provide inpatient physical therapy services as needed, contributing to the comprehensive care of hospitalized patients.
• Floating between Regional Medical Center and Conejos County Hospital (15 miles apart).

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Licensure: State License or Compact License required.
• Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred.
• Experience: 2 years of experience preferred; will consider 1 year with strong background.

Shift Details:

• Full-time, Monday-Friday.
• 4 full days outpatient & ½ day to Full day of inpatient at the Hospital (CCH) – NOT A DEALBREAKER IF TRAVELER DOES NOT WANT TO DO THE INPATIENT HALF DAY.

Additional Information:

• Start date: ASAP – start date needs to be 3 weeks from offer due to compliance.
• First-timers accepted: Yes.
• Weekend Requirement: Likely will cover IP on a rotating schedule, so will work once every 2 months.
• Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes, floating between Regional Medical Center and Conejos County Hospital (15 miles away from each other). Mileage is reimbursed by facility.
• Open to accommodating block schedule? This position is M-F.
• Locals accepted: Yes.
• Pending License accepted: Must have state license in hand.
• RTO Restrictions: Finalized RTO sent at time of submission. No RTO within first two weeks of start date, no more than 10 days. No full calendar weeks of RTO accepted.
• Guaranteed Hours: Yes; 40 hours per week.
• Type of Facility: Acute Care Hospital.
• Total Staffed Beds: 49.
• Scrub Color: Any color.
• Charting: OBix and McKesson, Pyxis, and SBAR.
• Parking Cost: Free in any unrestricted space.
• COVID-19 Vaccine (Facility Guideline): Not Required.
• Flu Vaccine (Facility Guideline): Required – No Exemptions.
