Physician Assistant – Neurosurgery – Brownwood, TX

Position Overview:
As a Physician Assistant in Neurosurgery, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care under the supervision of a qualified physician. You will collaborate with the neurosurgery team to assess, diagnose, and manage patients with neurological conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and neurological examinations.
- Assist with pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Conduct inpatient rounds and provide ongoing patient care.
- Perform procedures such as lumbar punctures, wound care, and nerve blocks.
- Assist with surgical procedures as directed by the supervising physician.
- Provide patient education and counseling regarding their condition, treatment plan, and discharge instructions.
- Clinical Support:
- Assist with the development and implementation of patient treatment plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Manage patient medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including nurses, physical therapists, and social workers.
- Clinic Duties:
- Conduct follow-up appointments with patients in the clinic setting.
- Manage patient referrals and coordinate care with other providers.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies (PA) from an accredited program.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas.
- Experience:
- No previous experience required, however, prior experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Certifications:
- BLS certification required.
