Registered Nurse Director – Labor & Delivery

Lead the Way in Labor & Delivery Nursing

As the Registered Nurse Director of Labor & Delivery, you will lead a dynamic team in a Level II Trauma Center, providing crucial care to mothers and newborns. You will oversee all aspects of the unit’s operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and family-centered environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a dedication to promoting excellence in obstetric care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Labor & Delivery nursing team.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care to mothers and newborns.
  • Oversee daily operations, staffing, and resource management.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment for the nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with physicians, other departments, and hospital leadership to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or approved education plan (Required).
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred).
    • Master’s Degree (Preferred).
  • Experience:
    • 1 year of healthcare experience (Required).
    • 1 year of leadership experience (Required).
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas or compact license (Required).
    • Compact license holders from other states must obtain a TX RN license within 6 months of hire.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required).
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Preferred).
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (Preferred).
    • Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification (Preferred).
    • RNC-OB certification (Preferred).
