Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

About the Position

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our partner, a leading freestanding emergency room in Tallahassee, FL. As an RN in the Emergency Department, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care to a diverse population, often in high-pressure situations.

Provide Expert Emergency Care in a Fast-Paced Freestanding ER

As an Emergency Department RN, you will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with acute illnesses and injuries, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Patient Care:
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans, including medication administration, wound care, and IV therapy.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and perform diagnostic procedures.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.
• Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and team meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff members.
• Quality Improvement:
  • Adhere to all regulatory standards and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and data collection.
  • Identify and report adverse events and near-misses.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Licensure:
  • Valid Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent acute care emergency department experience required.
• Skills:
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
• Shift:
  • Night Shift
