Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery) to provide compassionate and high-quality care to expectant mothers and their newborns.

Make a Difference in the Lives of Mothers and Newborns

As a Labor & Delivery Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting women throughout the birthing process and ensuring the safe delivery of healthy babies. This is a full-time, night shift position (3/12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) with on-call shifts as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Direct Patient Care:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of maternal and fetal status.
  • Assist with labor and delivery procedures.
  • Administer medications and fluids as ordered.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal responses to interventions.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to mothers and their families.
• Neonatal Care:
  • Assess newborns immediately after delivery.
  • Assist with newborn care.
• Collaboration:
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
• Maintain a Safe Environment:
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and newborns.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, AD, BSN).
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Registered Nurse licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • BLS certification required.
• Experience: Prior experience in Labor & Delivery is preferred, but not required.
