Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) to join the Med/Surg and Rehab team at a leading hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a 56-bed facility specializing in extended inpatient acute care for patients with complex medical conditions requiring longer recovery periods. The hospital offers both critical illness recovery and inpatient rehabilitation services, aiming to help patients achieve their highest level of independence. We have part-time (24 hours weekly) night shift and full-time (36 hours weekly) day or night shift positions available.

Provide Compassionate Med/Surg and Rehab Care in Scenic Alaska

As a Med/Surg and Rehab RN, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from acute illnesses and injuries, supporting their journey toward independence.

Position Overview:

As a Med/Surg and Rehab RN, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from acute illnesses and injuries. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate healing, promote rehabilitation, and support patients in their journey toward recovery. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a dedication to providing patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, wound care, and monitoring of vital signs.
• Assess patient conditions, identify changes in status, and respond appropriately.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and goals.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Experience: 1 year of nursing experience.
• Licensure: Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire.
• Certifications: BLS – American Heart Association certification upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• National Certification in area of specialty upon hire.
