Registered Nurse (Med-Surg/Palliative)

Full-Time, Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Temple, TX

Provide Comfort and Support to Patients in Need

As a Med-Surg/Palliative Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient comfort and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Direct Patient Care:
    • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and pain assessments.
    • Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
    • Monitor patient condition closely, including pain levels, respiratory status, and emotional well-being.
    • Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
    • Provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and their families during end-of-life care.
  • Collaborate with the Healthcare Team:
    • Communicate effectively with physicians, other nurses, and members of the interdisciplinary team.
    • Participate in care conferences and family meetings to discuss patient care plans and address end-of-life concerns.
  • Maintain a Safe Environment:
    • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
    • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, AD, BSN).
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Registered Nurse licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing.
    • BLS certification required (should not initiate patient contact until completed).
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Compassion and empathy for patients and their families.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
