RN Charge Nurse – Emergency

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our partner, a leading healthcare provider in Mission Viejo, CA, as an Emergency Department Charge Nurse. Lead the Way in Emergency Care
As an Emergency Department Charge Nurse, you will play a critical role in overseeing and directing clinical activities and personnel during your assigned shift. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, determine work priorities, provide assessments, plan care, and coordinate patient care activities. This role requires strong clinical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional care in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct clinical activities and personnel on assigned shifts.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department.
- Determine work priorities and delegate tasks effectively.
- Provide patient assessments, plan care, and coordinate patient care activities.
- Function as a Registered Nurse, providing direct patient care as needed.
- Assist in marketing information and community and leadership involvement for the clinic.
- Serve as a resource person for staff, resolving operational and patient care problems.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Experience:
- 3 years of RN clinical experience in an acute care setting.
- 6 months of recent clinical experience with mental health and wellness patients.
- Licensure/Certification:
- California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- BLS – American Heart Association certification upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- LPS training.
- 1 year of experience in a leadership role, preferably within a behavioral health setting.
