RN Charge Nurse – Emergency

Level II Trauma Center | Full-Time, Night Shift | Mission Viejo, CA

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our partner, a leading healthcare provider in Mission Viejo, CA, as an Emergency Department Charge Nurse. Lead the Way in Emergency Care

As an Emergency Department Charge Nurse, you will play a critical role in overseeing and directing clinical activities and personnel during your assigned shift. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, determine work priorities, provide assessments, plan care, and coordinate patient care activities. This role requires strong clinical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional care in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and direct clinical activities and personnel on assigned shifts.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Determine work priorities and delegate tasks effectively.
• Provide patient assessments, plan care, and coordinate patient care activities.
• Function as a Registered Nurse, providing direct patient care as needed.
• Assist in marketing information and community and leadership involvement for the clinic.
• Serve as a resource person for staff, resolving operational and patient care problems.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience:
  • 3 years of RN clinical experience in an acute care setting.
  • 6 months of recent clinical experience with mental health and wellness patients.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • BLS – American Heart Association certification upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Nursing.
• LPS training.
• 1 year of experience in a leadership role, preferably within a behavioral health setting.
