Nurse Manager – Operating Room

Full-Time, Day Shift | Lincoln, ME

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is proud to partner with a respected regional medical center in Lincoln, Maine, to find a dedicated Nurse Manager for their Operating Room (OR). This full-time leadership role offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) with no weekends or holidays, providing excellent work-life balance.

Lead the Way in Surgical Services

As Nurse Manager of the OR, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the surgical department. You will oversee a team of skilled nurses and surgical technicians, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment that prioritizes patient safety and positive outcomes. This role requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a dedication to promoting excellence in perioperative care.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the OR staff, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and competency.
  • Manage the OR schedule, optimizing efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards, maintaining a safe and effective surgical environment.
  • Promote quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of patient care and outcomes.
  • Implement hospital policies and procedures within the OR department.
  • Manage the department's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and cost-effective operations.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Active Maine Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience in perioperative nursing.
  • BSN preferred or willingness to obtain within two years of hire.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (or willingness to obtain within six months).
