Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a renowned Level II Trauma Center in Missoula, MT. Position Overview:

As a Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a crucial role in performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials. You will administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate imaging equipment (including PET scanners), and ensure compliance with safety regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles, technical expertise, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging procedures, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
  • Operate imaging equipment, including PET scanners.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding radiation safety and patient care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure accurate and high-quality diagnostic imaging.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Certification:
    • Upon hire: National certification as a Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine Technology (ARRT-N) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB).
    • Upon hire: BLS Certification (American Heart Association).
  • Experience: Experience following established nuclear medicine procedures and protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework or training in handling FDG (Fluorodeoxyglucose) and operating PET scanners.
