Position Overview:
As a Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a crucial role in performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials. You will administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate imaging equipment (including PET scanners), and ensure compliance with safety regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles, technical expertise, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging procedures, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
- Operate imaging equipment, including PET scanners.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding radiation safety and patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure accurate and high-quality diagnostic imaging.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine.
- Certification:
- Upon hire: National certification as a Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine Technology (ARRT-N) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB).
- Upon hire: BLS Certification (American Heart Association).
- Experience: Experience following established nuclear medicine procedures and protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework or training in handling FDG (Fluorodeoxyglucose) and operating PET scanners.
