Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Acute Care

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our partner, a 523-bed, full-service regional medical center in Tallahassee, FL. This is an exciting opportunity to help patients regain their communication and swallowing abilities while working in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment & Diagnosis

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Utilize evidence-based techniques to develop individualized treatment plans.

Therapeutic Intervention

• Provide speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing therapy tailored to each patient's needs.
• Educate patients and families on communication strategies, compensatory techniques, and home exercise programs.

Collaborative Care

• Work closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and dietitians to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop effective treatment plans.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

SLP License – Active Florida licensure required.
1-Year Experience – Must have at least one year of professional experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or similar setting.
Education – Associate's Degree from an accredited college.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of speech-language pathology best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
