Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts scans, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards. Prepare and position patients for scans, ensuring their comfort and safety. Explain procedures and answer questions to alleviate anxiety. Optimize image quality through proper technique selection and utilization of advanced imaging technology. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other team members to ensure accurate diagnoses and timely treatment planning. Maintain accurate and complete patient records, documenting procedures and findings. Assist radiologists with biopsy and drainage procedures, ensuring patient safety and procedural success. Perform high-level disinfection of ultrasound probes following departmental protocols.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program and ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) registry eligible (registry must be completed within 9 months of hire). OR ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registry with ultrasound credential. Certification: American Heart Association BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
