Vascular Technologist – Jacksonville, TX

Position Overview:
As a Vascular Technologist, you will play a crucial role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases. You will use ultrasound technology to visualize blood flow in arteries and veins throughout the body, providing valuable information for patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of vascular ultrasound examinations:
- Carotid duplex
- Peripheral arterial duplex
- Venous duplex
- Arterial and venous Doppler studies
- Other vascular studies as required
- Prepare patients for examinations: Explain procedures, address any concerns, and obtain patient consent.
- Position patients correctly for optimal image acquisition.
- Operate ultrasound equipment effectively and safely: Adjust parameters, optimize image quality, and utilize advanced imaging techniques.
- Analyze ultrasound images: Identify abnormalities, measure blood flow velocities, and document findings accurately.
- Collaborate with physicians: Communicate findings effectively to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and implementation of new protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Completion of an accredited program in Vascular Technology.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or a recognized equivalent.
- CPR certification required (should not initiate patient contact until completed).
- Experience:
- Preferred: One (1) year of related experience as a Vascular Technologist.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of vascular anatomy and physiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
