Sectra secures 12-year, $353M contract with Canadian province

Swedish enterprise imaging firm Sectra has secured a 12-year contract to provide its enterprise imaging package Sectra One Cloud to public hospitals in Québec, Canada.

The contract value, including options, amounts to $353 million U.S. over 12 years, Sectra said.

Québec boasts more than 150 healthcare sites which collectively perform approximately 12 million examinations a year, the company said. Under terms of the deal, Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS) Québec will initially use Sectra One Cloud's vendor-neutral archive and the modules for orthopedics, breast imaging, and radiology, including reporting with voice recognition.

MSSS Québec is currently managing a legal challenge regarding the award of the contract, Sectra noted. In May, the Superior Court of Québec issued a preliminary decision in favor of MSSS Québec, allowing the project to proceed while the legal process continues, according to Sectra.
